In this special two-hour workshop for 2-18 year olds, Jess Chatfield will lead participants in painting boomerangs and message stones using traditional symbols.

Jess is a proud Gunditjmara woman from the Framlingham Aboriginal community in south west Victoria. While she’s primarily known for her activism and storytelling, she has ventured into the realm of visual art. Her work often intertwines her cultural heritage with contemporary issues, reflecting her deep connection to Country and community. Jess’ storytelling is a testament to her commitment to preserving and sharing the rich cultural narratives of her people. Through her art and activism, she continues to inspire and educate each other about the significance of land, heritage and community.
