Contemporary works in watercolour

38 Bank St, Port Fairy
Meet the artist behind Glyph Gallery’s winter exhibition, Stefan Gevers. Hear about Gevers’ contemporary approach to working with watercolour, often inspired by country road trips and a deep interest in the natural environment, in particular the delicate, shifting patterns in nature.
‘People tend to see watercolour as a traditional form of art that doesn’t allow for growth, uniqueness, and openness to change,’ says Stefan. ‘Tradition creates a sense of comfort which leads to repetition, mediocre work and limits our freedom to be creative. When we are contemporary in our thinking, we become more stimulated and follow our passion without compromise. This allows us to create work that is an authentic extension of our own unique self.’
All are invited to welcome Stefan to Port Fairy at this opening event at the flourishing, dynamic Glyph Gallery.
