It was the biggest race yet! Thank you so much to all the mini racers...all 73 of you! And to all the spectators who cheered them on! And of course, to our wonderful volunteers and supporters who make the whole thing happen.
It started as a chilly but clear morning with lots of dew on the track. The dog's breakfast was a fun pre-race event with people gathering to was some light drizzle just before the race
The winning 'Sausage Dog' living up to her Sausage Dog name. This dog has won 4 out of 6 races over the last 6 years. Pictured here on the podium is Daisy with her owner Jemma Chaple.

Dachshund Dash prizes
In addition to the glory, the winning Dachshunds in both age categories this year receive an A4 framed portrait of themselves by talented local artist Jimmi Buscombe. Portraits are valued at $310 each.
Jimmi works from photos to create incredibly life-like illustrations of animals and pets. This is such a special way to have your champion pooch immortalised in art and we thank Jimmi for his support!
Here he is with some examples of his fine work.
