In this session, laugh and enjoy yourself, learn artistic skills and traditional art techniques, connect with like-minded others and explore awareness of the self. Hosted by multi-form artist Catherine Bailey, these workshops have evolved from her experience as an artist, the Atelier Studio Method (National Art School), the work of Jungian Therapist Sally Gillespie and meditative techniques from Catherine’s Qi Gong teacher, Li Ying. Workshops are suitable for beginners to those with intermediate art experience.

Fundraiser: Community Bank Swim Challenge

This is a fundraiser of epic proportions – for community and for the pool! Eight teams of five swimmers from a local community group swim as many laps as they can, relay style, in a 2-hour time slot. The Community Bank gives them $1 for every lap! PLUS, they’ll match that money and donate it to the pool. Who will raise the most?? How high will the lap count go?? Why are people so active on a Sunday!? Be there to cheer them on and enjoy the competition and novelty races of the Community Swim Challenge!

Originating in Aboriginal wisdom, Wayapa is sometimes called Aboriginal yoga. Join practitioner Thaedra Frangos, a Wemba Wemba and Dhudhuroa woman who teaches this gentle physical movement and meditation practice. Wayapa is for everyone, all ages and levels, Indigenous and non-Indigenous. It promotes reconnection with the earth as a starting point for wellness and healing, based on the understanding that Aboriginal people have lived in harmony with the earth for more than 65,000 years. This session is outdoors (indoors at the Reardon Theatre only if bad weather).
