Fact: Caroline Grey (Cunliffe and Waters, the Yarra Valley’s Relish Mama cooking school, and A Bit of Pickle and Jam) is a preserve and pickle guru. This two-hour session is your chance to cover the basics of fermentation with an expert, in the warmth of the Merrijig kitchen. Get involved as Caroline splits a cabbage straight down the middle, pitting the delicious stink of Korea’s kim chi against Germany’s sauerkraut! Become acquainted with your new favourite snack: the kim chi toastie! This is hands on and elbows deep, with all the jars, recipes, ingredients and kombucha provided. There’s nothing you wont know about fermentation (or cabbage!) by the end of this.
