We would love to promote you!

The purpose of Winter Weekends is to contribute to economic, cultural and community growth of Port Fairy during what is traditionally the off-season in our region. We bring our coldest, slowest months to life! The Winter Weekends committee actively promotes the festival  for approximately 12 weeks from April through to festival dates in June and July. We are committed to attracting day and overnight-stay visitors to come to Port Fairy, participate in events and spread the word about our beautiful, vibrant town.

2016 highlights

  • Winter Weekends 2016 saw thousands of visitors come to town during what is our slowest, coldest time of the year.
  • More than 60 events over seven weekends hosted by 50+ local community groups and businesses.
  • Visitor numbers up on previous year. Port Fairy Visitors Information Centre tracked higher visitation for the same time period than in 2015.
  • Dachshund Dash attended by 1,500+ people!
  • Approx 80% of events attracted high to very high attendance, with 10 ticketed food events sold out; 200+ people at opening night and 350+ people at closing party.
  • Increases in day and night visitation to see the lighting and projection installations. Lights will continue in 2017!
  • Widespread local and state print, online and broadcast media coverage, including The Age; the Standard; Geelong Advertiser; ABC Radio (state and local); Ballarat, Bendigo, Portland and Mount Gambier print media.
  • Large increases in social media following: 1000+ on Facebook and 500+ on Instagram...and growing!
  • 2017 program to include several new and special events including open house, fresh light installations, photography competition and kids' disco. We can't wait!

2017 festival dates

Winter Weekends 2017 is every second weekend in June and July. 
Events are held on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays.

Weekend 1 - June 9, 10, 11 (Queen’s birthday)
Weekend 2 - June 23, 24, 25
Weekend 3 - July 7, 8, 9  (Vic school holidays)
Weekend 4 - July 21, 22, 23

Invitation

EVENTS - We invite locals and visitors to share their talents, produce or passions as part of our diverse and engaging program. We seek submissions including, but not limited to, the following: food and wine; cinema, theatre or live performance; live or electronic music; art exhibitions; workshops for arts, crafts, food or other sessions focused on teaching and learning skills; community fundraisers; forums or talks; sporting or outdoor activities. Events and activities fall under four main pillars: community, arts, music and food + wine. In a nutshell, your business or group organises the event (venue, details, ticketing etc) and we get very busy promoting it as part of the festival. Got an idea? Get in touch! 

SPONSORSHIP - We invite local businesses to get behind the festival to help us bring more visitors to the town during the quiet months. Sponsorship revenue supports community groups to run free events. Help us continue to grow!  And in turn, help our community thrive all year round.

Pack 2   Event + promotion     $200

  • Organise and host an event of your choice. Your event included in the festival program, published in the festival booklet and website.
  • Your logo featured in the festival booklet and website.
  • Social media promotion of your event across Facebook and Instagram.
  • Your event pitched to radio and print media.

Pack 3 Community event FREE

  • Available only to community and not-for-profit groups. This includes local schools, sports groups, community house markets, men's shed, CWA, surf life saving club etc.
  • Organise and host an event of your choice. Your event included in the festival program, published in the festival booklet and website.

Pack 4 Sponsor listing     $100

  • One line listing published in the festival booklet and website.

Pack 5 Sponsor an event     $250

  • Limit of 10 packs available. 
  • Your business listed alongside the event in the festival booklet. Eg This event is proudly supported by Jill’s Cafe.
  • Your logo featured in the festival booklet and website.
  • Your business signage or flyers displayed at the event.
  • Social media promotion of your support.

Pack 6 Sponsor back page     $1,500

  • One only - be quick!
  • Your business logo featured prominently on the back page of every festival booklet. This entire space is dedicated to one business only.
  • A minimum of 5,000 booklets will be distributed across the South West. 

** Special event sponsorship      $1,000+

  • We are seeking sponsorship for a small number of very special, larger events. Details TBC.
