Port Fairy Winter Weekends Festival
Port Fairy is renowned as an historic, intimate, harbour village with a quiet charm but the town has much more to offer. The Port Fairy Winter Weekends Festival is a series of themed weekends spread over June and July each year.
New Coordinator appointed for the 2012 Winter Weekends
Port Fairy Winter Weekends is pleased to appoint Ross Morey as the coordinator for 2012.
Ross comes to Winter Weekends with considerable experience in Tourism, Marketing and business processes. He has operated his own consulting business (Rise Advisors) for the past three years with various clients including those in Tourism, Manufacturing and Local Government. These clients have been both locally based and spread around regional businesses in Western Victoria. Ross is looking forward to working ‘locally’ for this important regional event.
Ross has firsthand knowledge of what it takes to run a significant regional event, having previously assisted with the marketing of the Grampians Grape Escape based in Halls Gap. Ross said ‘he is thrilled to be involved with Winter Weekends’ and is looking forward to working with the local community and locally based businesses with Winter Weekends in 2012.
Ross firmly believes in building relationships with the community and currently holds the role of President of the recently incorporated body Standing Tall in Warrnambool, a mentoring program for young adolescents.
It is hoped Ross will have a considerable impact on the awareness of the Port Fairy Winter Weekends throughout regional and metropolitan Victoria. It is hoped that during 2012 the committee will be able to put a strong base down from which to build the future.
